Stitch Fix Friday – Kick It or Keep It?
Check out below for all of my August Stitch Fix Kick It’s and Keep It’s for this month! This is not a sponsored post – just filling you in on my latest fashion finds!
Okay, so here’s the deal. I hate malls. They drive me crazy and cause me physical discomfort. I sweat and can’t regulate my body temperature when I go to a mall. I’m not a fashionista, and I’d rather ride on a roller coaster until I throw up than go jeans shopping.
*Fact* half of the jeans I own are from Costco. No need to try them on, just grab them from the pile and walk off with them and to nab the carton of 36 eggs and 3 year supply of garbage bags I went in there for originally.
Because I hate malls and shopping that much – I signed up for StitchFix. Have you heard about it? Have you tried it? Well, if you are like me – this is totally your new more-fashionable-shopping-loving-friend.
Here are the pieces that I got in my StitchFix set up!
Daniel Rainn Pleated Front Blouse:: Keep It
Love this. I have a shirt in a similar cut, and I love how light and airy it is. Sadly, I wore it yesterday and it has a small run in the fabric already. This is why I can’t have nice things!
Cardigan :: Kick It
I have fifty three other cardigans. Ben is going to stage an intervention. It went bye-bye. Cute, just not worth it.
Striped T-shirt :: Kick It
I pump das irons. *Said in my best Arnold voice* and this – as cute and Sailor Megan as it is – was not going to fit over my arms. They were going numb by the time I took it off. Also, it’s really sheer! Adorable, but no.
Neutral Color Block Linen Shift :: Kick It
aka Megan is Heartbroken. Linen and my big butt don’t mix. There was no stretch to this dress, so it was an incredibly tight fit over my bum standing, let alone going a day sitting at work or at happy hour. I sent it off with a 80’s power love ballad and a glistening tear.
Aqua and Gold Square Chunk Necklace :: Keep It
Yup, it’s staying. I don’t wear necklaces all that often – but look at it. It stays and I will find a reason to wear it.

There you have it! So for $20 for each fix, I had someone else do the hard work. My $20 styling fee money went towards the two items I decided to keep (and helped keep costs down a little bit), and I shipped the rest off back to StitchFix-Land with the pre-paid return bag. It was so easy – I can’t wait to see next month’s fix. Shhh, don’t tell Ben.

I love this!!! I’m sad you’re kicking the color block shift – YOU LOOK SASSY!!!!
Trust me – I almost cried sending it back! I just couldn’t squeeze my big butt into it comfortably. It was very “I’ll never let go, Jack” from Titanic shipping it back hahah
I absolutely hate malls too. Where I live now though there really isn’t a good one within an hour, so I have a good excuse to do all my shopping online! I so much prefer it that way.
I prefer shopping online, too! Once I know my size I just order everything online. And the StitchFix is so much fun. I love getting mail!
I haven’t scheduled a fix in a couple months because I was only liking one item they sent each month, but I want to give it another shot.
I figure even if you only like one item a month it’s still 12 new items a year! Not bad, really!
That neckalce…I love it. It’s beautiful.
One day I’m pretty sure we’re going to run into each other at Costco. We’ll both be carrying the largest carton of eggs you’ve ever seen, a 4 lb. pack of butter, garbage bags, and a pair of jeans. Girl, I am so with you on mall shopping. Too overwhelming. I think I’m officially being pushed over the Stitch Fix edge by this post. Can’t wait to try it!
LOL!!! I’m sure we’ll have to strategically wave at Costco so we don’t drop out eggs!! Glad you got the ‘Fix! You’ll love it, I’m sure of it 🙂
LOVE the necklace! And too bad about the dress it looks great from the front! 🙂 I keep wanting to try stitchfix, but it seems kind of expensive.
It’s really not too bad. They have a range of prices you can choose from called “cheaper is better”, and I chose that on all my items to help keep costs down. It’s more expensive than shoppig at target, but you get some stuff that you wouldn’t other wise try! And if you keep all five pieces they send you – they give you a 25% discount! Try it once, it’s worthit!
I really want to try StitchFix! Thank you for showing the deets. I’m definitely doing it as soon as I can convince the man… 🙂
I keep updating my stitchfix profile, but can never pull the trigger! I love all your pieces, though. Would you mind next time listing the price of each item?
Yeah I totally will list prices next time!! I’ll see if I can find my invoice and if I can, I’ll update this list! Great Idea!
I’ve been going back and forth mentally on stitch fix… I think I’m going to cave soon! Love that cute necklace!
I’ve been debating about signing up for months and finally did it after reading this… along with 2 other people in my office. Can’t wait!
You’ll LOVE it, I’m sure of it! So glad your friends at work signed up too! Me and the girls all get together and show off our Stitch Fixes – we call them Fashion Safaris!
I signed up for stitch fix once but hated everything they sent me. It looks as if you had more luck than I did. That first top is adorable on you!
Aww don’t lose hope over StitchFix – I think it takes the stylists some time to really figure out some people’s styles. 🙂 Keep at it – I’m sure they’ll find just the right style for you 🙂
I am obsessed with the first top! It looks so great on you! I am also obsessed with Stichfix and am anxiously awaiting my second one scheduled to arrive in a couple weeks. 🙂
I just had to reschedule my next fix!! I had to move it up – I couldn’t wait any more! haha
I swear I can never have nice things either! I always make the mistake of trying to cook or clean with nice clothes and then I ruin them!
How Cleaver are you!! I love how you presented this post…I am awaiting my 3rd fix and have been kicking around the idea of posting about it. I love this whole idea, because I too hate shopping…for myself any way. Thanks for sharing can’t wait to see what you get next!
And I thought I was the only female on the planet that hated mall shopping! My man loves it, because when we do go, we are in and out in fifteen minutes!
I really need to get on the Stitch Fix bandwagon! Everything is always sooo cute! PS: You look fab in alllll of it!
This may actually be a fantastic life-hack for rural momness. Store-shopping for style/fashion updates just ain’t gonna happen. Just trying to determine whether I go out into civilization enough to justify non-boot-or-camo wardrobe additions.
