It’s that time in the wedding process that Ben and I need to start looking at wedding venues. And talk about daunting. Which side of the state are we going to get hitched on? Or are we going out of the state? How big of wedding? What colors do we like or hate? Is this going to be a traditional affair, or more whimsical, or even more simple?
I’ve begun to realize that the majority of these questions will be answered when we narrow down our choices of venue. For me, I would prefer Eastern Washington. Ben and I met over there, he grew up over there in a tiny no-stop-light-town, and well – I’m just plain ol’ sentimental and would like our wedding to be somewhere that is significant to both of us.
A few weeks ago I ventured over to Spokane for my Lumberjack Reunion, and whilst there my bestie Corinne and I did a little wedding venue searching. Corinne is awesome you see, she’s the whole reason that me and Ben came to be me and Ben. I blame her for this whole entire fiasco. She’s on my list… But one of the places we stopped at was Trezzi Farms up north of Spokane. Michelle, Ben’s sister, hit the ground running after our engagement and began sending me links to truly amazing places around the greater Spokane area. After searching their website – this rose to the top of my list – we had to check it out.
Sunday, after waking up and recuperating from Saturday night’s events we ventured out to Trezzi Farms to take a gander at this place I had fallen in love with online. Now my biggest worry is that it would be a disappointment since pictures online rarely ever paint an accurate picture of what you end up seeing in real life…but Trezzi did not disappoint. It may have been drizzly out, chilly, slightly windy and wintery so nothing was in bloom, but my sentimental heart was swept away.
When you walk into the main building on the property, you are smacked with the smell of home cooked Italian food.
And the colors of the walls, just peering back at you like big sunflowers in the middle of Tuscany.
Here is the tasting room, where all of the post wedding drinks and food are served. And look at that chicken!! There were a couple others sporatically placed around the site. How fun!
(PS – don’t mind me, I just love my big ol gooshy Mom-Sweater. Ben hates it, so I wear it when he’s not around…)
These large picnic tables rest just off the patio from the tasting room. Perfect for a small wedding. The wine barrels lay on the outside, placed just for lanterns in the evening time.
And talk about the perfect place for a ceremony. You can’t beat the hills of E.Wa, a windmill, and vineyard all in one.
Here’s the tasting room where Davide and Stephanie pour their prized bottles of wine.
The interior was a great mix of industrial concrete floors, glass garage style doors and deep Italian-feeling reds and browns. Davide took such pride in his home and shop. It was infectious.
All of their food was prepared right there onsite, and they even prepare and packed meals for ready to eat purchase. What a great idea. It all smelled absolutely divine, and not to mention the prices were great!

Corinne and I had a great time here, getting to meet Davide and tour the facility. Hopefully we’ll get to drag Ben and Beka out there sometime soon to check it out as well. Despite me wanting this all to go my way, I know that Ben has to agree and dare I say – like the place, too. Hopefully the sarcasm is translating well here, I know for a fact that we will both have to like it or even love it- ’cause this will be OUR day and it should be somewhere we feel a special connection.
